LEVELS AND PROGRAMMES

A. INITIATION (age limit : 8 years) - 7 minutes max.
- work of a Russian composer
(for example : Tchaikovsky. Old french song, " Children's Album" op.39)
- work to be chosen by the candidate
(for example : Schumann. Wilder Reiter [Wild Horseman], " Album for the Young " op.68 n°8)

B. BEGINNERS (age limit : 10 years) - 10 minutes max.
- work of a Russian composer
(for example : Prokofieff. Tarentelle, " Children's Music " op.65)
- work to be chosen by the candidate
(for example : Debussy. The Little Shepherd, " Children's Corner ")

C. PREPARATORY (age limit : 12 years) - 15 minutes max.
- work of a Russian composer
(for example : Tchaikovsky. April. Snowdrop, "The Seasons", op.37-bis)
- work of a French composer
(for example : Debussy. Doctor Gradus ad Parnassum, " Children's Corner ")
- work to be chosen by the candidate
(for example : J.S.Bach. one invention for 2 voices)

D. ELEMENTARY (age limit : 15 years) - 20 minutes max.
- polyphonic work
(for example : J.S.Bach. one invention for 3 voices)
- work of virtuosity
- work of a Russian composer
(for example : Scriabin. One or several preludes from the op.11)
- work to be chosen by the candidate

E. INTERMEDIATE (age limit: 18 years) - 30 minutes max.
- polyphonic work
- work of virtuosity
- work of Scriabin
- work to be chosen by the candidate

F. SUPERIOR I (age limit : 24 years) - 40 minutes max.
- polyphonic work
- work of virtuosity
- major work of Scriabin
- work of a French composer
- work to be chosen by the candidate

G. SUPERIOR II (age limit : 30 years) - 50 minutes max.
Free programm with one work of Scriabin

H. PIANO 4 HANDS (age limit : 12 years) - 10 minutes max.
One or two diversified works to be chosen by the candidate

NB : The works quoted as examples are not to be regarded as imposed.


AWARDS

- For each level : 1st, 2d, 3d prizes and Diplomas of participation.
- Laureates Concert organised by the Russian Conservatory of Paris A.Scriabin will take place on February 27, 2008.

- One masterclass lesson with Mikhail VOSKRESENSKY
- One masterclass lesson with Igor LAZKO

Initiation - 30 €
Beginners - 40 €
Preparatory - 50 €
Elementary - 60 €
Intermediate - 75 €
Superior I - 90 €
Superior II - 100 €
Piano 4 hands - 50 € (for both candidates)

COMPETITION RULES

  • The examinations are open to the public.
  • All the works must be played from memory.
  • The Jury may interrupt the candidate at any time of his performance.
  • The results will be given at the end of examination of each level.
  • The decisions of the Jury are final.
  • No complaint will be admitted.
  • The Jury will include eminent pianists and professors.
  • The prizes and the diplomas of participation are awarded as encouragement corresponding to the note allotted by the jury.
  • Candidates are requested to complete the attached registration form and send it by mail or by fax to the competition secretary.
Attention : Registration must be received by February 16, 2008.

  • The candidates are requested to inform the competition secretary in case of absence.
  • Registration fees will not be refunded under any circumstance.
  • Participants take in charge their lodging and travel expenses.
  • The time of the examination will be made known to the candidates a few days in advance.
